IPSec, short for Internet Protocol Security, is a suite of protocols used to secure internet protocol (IP) communications by encrypting and authenticating all IP packets of a communication session. It provides security at the network level, which means it’s designed to protect data in transit across a network.
IPSec includes protocols such as Authentication Header (AH) and Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP) to provide security features like data integrity, confidentiality, authentication of the sender, and anti-replay.
