5 Available Domains With Over 5,000 Exact Matches

by Mike Sullivan

I spend a lot of time looking at domains.  I like to see what’s available on the after market, but I also enjoy looking for hand regs.  Early on, I went crazy and pulled the trigger on every unregistered domain I could think of.  Not a great way to build a portfolio.  I ended up with some good names that paid for the bad for the bad names, but a whole lot more bad names than good ones.

There are certain things to consider when registering a domain.  Google Exact Global Monthly Searches is definitely one good indicator.  However, I’ve sold domains that have terrible exact search numbers. I also still have some, yet to expire, with higher search numbers that I now consider to be junk names.  While exact searches are an “indicator” be sure to follow other indicators, including your gut, when making a purchase decision.

Here are five domains there are available at the time of this writing that I am not going to register.  They all have Google Exact Global Monthly Searches greater than 5,000.  These could be developed or semi-developed to pull in some PCP dollars.  At a minimum, I’m sure a decent domainer could make these domains at least pay for themselves.  I’m not registering them for a couple reasons.  The biggest is that I currently have projects stacked up that I have not been able to get to.  I don’t want to add more domains until I start moving on some of those that I have.  There are also other reasons….

MMAForums.co6,600 exact matches. This is actually up my alley.  I enjoy watching MMA fights but I don’t have the time to invest in creating a forum and all the effort that goes into making one successful.  I’m also keeping my .CO investments limited at this point.

HowManyCaloriesInAnEgg.com5,400 exact matches.  I had this one written in my notes for sometime.  A popular search phrase, but nothing I could see myself developing long term.  A shift in my domianing philosophy prevents me from picking this one up.

BBCFoodRecipes.com22,200 exact matches.  This one has some nice search volume.  The BBC site has a section for recipes and apparently it’s a big draw.  This one I am not registering due to probable trademark complications, plain and simple. Something I might have risked as a beginner, but I’ve read enough about that want to steer clear.

PaneraBreadMenu.org60,500 exact matches.  Another one with red flags all around it.  Yet, it never ceases to amaze me when corporations ignore their own key phrases that ultimately could draw more traffic to them.

IsoscelesTriangle.net –  18,000 exact matches.  This is one of those that I just typed-in to see if it was available.  Not sure of any practical application of this name.  Maybe a good one for a tutoring center or online homework help.  Decent numbers, not one for me.

Just thought I would share some of the recent names I poked around at.  If any sound good to you, great, register them.  Let me know what you end up doing with them.

That’s not rude… it’s fact.

Actually, it is rude, but your rudeness is justified.

MMAForums.co isn’t that bad. I’ve been looking for an mma forum name but I don’t like .co
