DNJournal is the trade publication of record for domain sales. Ron Jackson has published the weekly top sales chart since 2003, listing the largest reported sales across every major venue, plus a year-end report that ranks the biggest deals of the year.

If a sale "made the DNJournal chart," it was one of the twenty or so largest reported that week. Sellers and marketplaces report sales to it precisely because appearing there is a credential.

The same caveat as any sales data applies. It's reported sales, so the private deals that never get disclosed aren't in it. But as a picture of where the public money is going week to week, nothing else has the track record.
