Sedo

Sedo is the other big marketplace. Based in Cologne, it's been around since 2001 and it does the same things Afternic does with a stronger European and international buyer base: fixed-price listings, make-offer negotiation, auctions, brokerage and a parking service that puts a for-sale page on your domain.

Its SedoMLS network syndicates listings to partner registrars, the same idea as Afternic's network, and it hosts the GreatDomains auctions for higher-end names.

Commission is typically 15 percent for a direct sale and 20 percent for a network sale, with a minimum. Many investors list on both Sedo and Afternic and let whichever one brings the buyer earn the fee.
