I want to meet you at NamesCon

NamesCon Global is getting closer, and the first look at the agenda is now available.

This year’s event takes place November 11-12 in Miami at Ice Palace Studios, and the agenda gives a pretty good indication of where the conversations in the domain industry are heading.

There are sessions covering domains, hosting, digital assets, artificial intelligence, digital identity, new top-level domains, changing search behavior, and the broader Internet economy.

Those are all areas worth watching right now. The domain business has always changed, but there seem to be more moving pieces than usual. AI is changing how websites get built and how people search. New extensions continue to enter the market. Digital identity is becoming a larger conversation. At the same time, domain investors are still trying to answer the same basic question we always have: where is the next opportunity?

One of the reasons I have always enjoyed events like NamesCon is that you get to hear how other people in the industry are thinking about those questions. Sometimes the most useful part is not even a presentation. It is the conversation you have afterward with another investor, registrar, broker, developer, or someone working on a completely different side of the business.

You can take a look at the current agenda preview at NamesCon.com/agenda.

If you are considering attending, there is also a timing issue worth knowing about. NamesCon says ticket prices increase Friday, August 21. Sully’s Blog readers can use the code SB20 to receive 20% off a pass.

You can register at NamesCon.com/tickets.

I’ll be in Miami this year and am looking forward to seeing what comes out of the conversations. If you are going please contact me and let me know. I would really like to meet you in person.
